Flagovore is a geography learning game. We built it to work without collecting personal information. There are no ads, no third-party trackers, and no advertising identifiers. No registration is required: you can play the entire game without signing in.
Signing in is optional and exists for one reason only: so your progress survives a lost or replaced device. You can delete your account and everything attached to it directly in the app, at any time.
We never ask for and never store: real names, postal addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, location data, photos, videos, contacts, or voice recordings. The game has no chat, no message box, and no way for players to send each other free-form text.
Your progress lives in local storage on the device itself: your chosen public nickname, your age band from the first-run screen, learned countries, experience points, streaks, and settings. Everything in that list stays on the device, with one exception: the public nickname is reserved on our servers so that no two players share it and a friend can invite you by it (see “Accounts and cloud saving” below). The rest leaves the device only if you sign in and enable cloud saving.
The game creates a player ID automatically at first launch, and asks you to pick a nickname. Both are reserved on our servers so they stay unique — this is what lets a friend invite you to a duel. Neither identifies you personally.
If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identity token from that provider, verify its signature, and derive a key for your cloud save. We do not receive or store your password. Your saved game contains the same data listed above — no contact details.
Signing in is never required. Every feature of the game works without it.
You can delete everything from inside the app: open Profile → Delete account, confirm, and we immediately and permanently remove:
This applies to the automatically created guest account as well as to accounts created by signing in with Apple or Google. Deletion is immediate — there is no waiting period, no deactivation step, and no need to contact support. It cannot be undone.
If you would rather write to us, email privacy@flagovore.com and we will delete your data within 30 days.
We collect anonymous, first-party usage statistics — which screens are opened, whether a lesson was finished, and app version — to find bugs and understand which parts of the game work. Events carry a random identifier generated on the device, never an advertising ID and never anything that identifies a person. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.
You can turn analytics off entirely in Profile → For parents. Turning it off does not limit any part of the game.
During an online duel, the other player sees only your nickname, your mascot, and your score. Nothing else is transmitted. There is no chat and no way to exchange free-form text.
The app talks to two services: our own backend, hosted on Vercel, and — only if you choose to sign in — Apple or Google for authentication. Audio files are served from our own storage. We use no advertising networks, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no social media SDKs beyond the optional sign-in described above. Any provider that processes data on our behalf is bound to protections equal to those in this policy.
Cloud saves are kept while your account exists and are erased the moment you delete it. Nickname and player ID reservations are erased at the same time. Anonymous analytics events are retained in aggregate for up to 14 months. Local data lives on your device until you delete the account or uninstall the app.
Flagovore is rated for all ages and is designed so that it does not collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age. We comply with COPPA (United States) and with the GDPR provisions concerning minors (European Union). Because we collect no personal data, no verifiable parental consent is required — but parents can still switch analytics off and delete all data at any time using the steps above.
Wherever you live, you can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Deletion is available instantly in the app. For anything else, write to privacy@flagovore.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
